Figures in the England heirarchy are worried about the development of Dominic Solanke at Liverpool, as the striker continues to struggle for game time.
Solanke has been constantly overlooked by Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, as Roberto Firmino continues to impress up front.
England U21 boss Aidy Boothroyd has spoken about Solanke’s future, admitting that the striker’s failure to force his way into the Liverpool side.

The striker had been invited to train with the main England squad, and has made it into Boothroyd’s team to play the Netherlands and Latvia. However, England are concerned that the player’s failure to make it into any of the matchday squads so far for the Reds could hamper his development.
Speaking about Solanke, Boothroyd said, via the Telegraph:
“I’m really pleased with Dom but I’m also a little bit worried about him because he is not getting the minutes and not getting the games.”
“I am happy on the pitch picking the best players, but for the good of England and for the good of British football it would be nicer if we had more players playing, certainly better for us and for them.
“Our players have proved they can do it at international level but not as many of them as there should be are getting the opportunity to do that in the Premier League.”
Solanke moved on a free transfer from Chelsea last season, in a bid for more playing time. However, this hasn’t been the case, and the player has only managed one goal for the Reds.
