Exciting new details emerge regarding Liverpool’s Nike deal

Liverpool’s colossal deal with American sportswear manufacturers Nike is edging ever closer and thanks to the ever-reliable Paul Joyce, new details have today emerged.

In a report for The Times, Joyce has revealed that according to High Court papers, the kit deal will only be worth a guaranteed £30million per-year.

However, Nike have committed to paying the Reds a 20% royalty on all net sales of Liverpool Football Club products.

The exciting detail though, is that the club will be promoted by globally-renowned non-footballing superstars in the same bracket as tennis ace Serena Williams and musician Drake.

£30million per-year is a surprisingly low sum considering it’s less than the £45million-a-year deal Liverpool currently have with New Balance.

The club’s current kit suppliers have commenced legal action, claiming it can match Nike’s terms, but it seems like only a matter of time before jumping ship.

Plenty of the European champions’ supporters have unsurprisingly reacted with plenty of excitement to the news on social media, with the prospect of becoming a true global powerhouse acting as music to the ears.

This is quickly becoming a very interesting story as it continues to unfold, and it’d be nice to adding a Premier League trophy to the cabinet to fuel excitement further, ey?
