Liverpool rode a massive storm from Southampton before putting up a good show and eventually winning the game 4-0 at Anfield.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and a brace from Mohamed Salah were the goals scored by the home side, who are now 22 points clear at the top of the table.
After quite a even start to the game, the Saints had a flurry of chances after the half-hour mark, but neither Danny Ings nor Shane Long could score.
At the other end, Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino had chances that were saved by Alex McCarthy.
Just at the start of second half, Chamberlain received the ball at edge of the box and fired his low effort into the back of the net.
Minutes later, Firmino brought down an aerial ball perfectly before running towards the byline and cutting back for Henderson to score.
It was three in the 71st minute when the aforementioned scorer set up Salah with an exquisite through ball. The Egyptian took a touch before chipping the keeper to score.
The icing was done in the 90th minute, with Salah and Firmino combining for the latter to assist a goal for the former.
All in all, a crazy game that ended up being one-sided in favour of the Reds. It was not that easy because Southampton deserved to at least score in this game.
