Who was Liverpool’s best player against West Brom?

Liverpool strengthened their grip on a top four place with a 1-0 victory over West Brom at the Hawthorns.

Roberto Firmino’s header from Lucas’ flick-on at the end of the first half proved the difference as Jurgen Klopp’s men recorded their fifth win in seven games.

James Milner missed a glorious chance to make the points safe in the second half, and Matt Phillips nearly punished the Reds, only for Simon Mignolet to make a brilliant save.

West Brom ‘keeper Ben Foster joined the attack in the dying stages, with Alberto Moreno unable to fire into an empty net from 40 yards.

Nevertheless, Liverpool held on for yet another vital three points.
