Flanagan was released from his Liverpool contract at the end of last season after 51 appearances for the Reds.

The full back spent time out on loan at Burnley and Bolton Wanderers, but failed to really make an impact under Jurgen Klopp.

Flanagan will reunite with Steven Gerrard at Rangers, becoming the legendary Liverpool midfielder’s seventh signing of the Summer.

Gerrard left the Liverpool U18 side to join Rangers, who are looking for a first title since returning to the Scottish top flight.

James Tavernier will be Flanagan’s positional rival, with the Liverpool born player being brought in to provide competition at right back.
