Four Findings: Wolves 1-2 Liverpool

Thursday night at Wolves was never going to be an easy prospect, yet the Liverpool machine rolls on.

The Reds edged out Nuno Espirito Santo’s side 2-1 at Molineux, going 16 points clear of Manchester City with a game in hand.

Liverpool took the lead from a set-piece, with Trent Alexander Arnold’s corner headed home by Jordan Henderson.

Jurgen Klopp’s men looked to stay on top and extend their lead, only to be foiled by some poor finishing and inconsistent decision-making.

Things took a darker turn when Sadio Mane needed to be replaced, making way for Takumi Minamino, who made his Premier League debut.

Wolves quickly matched the Reds for energy and gained an edge after the restart.

After six straight clean sheets, Andy Robertson got caught out and speedster Adama Traore raced in behind. His sublime cross allowed Raul Jimenez to head in the equaliser.

As the game opened up, Liverpool needed every bit of steel to fend off Wolves and find a late goal.

Alisson was forced into action, stopping a series of good chances and setting the stage for Roberto Firmino’s dramatic 84th-minute winner.

Here are four findings from the match…
