Getting to Know… Kristoffer Peterson

In a new feature on TBT, Jack Watson will be asking the questions to various players and staff members at Liverpool Football Club, allowing you to ‘get to know’ them a bit better.

First up is Kristoffer Peterson. The Swede signed for Liverpool in 2011 from Swedish side, A Savedalens IF. For the remainder of that season Peterson played for the Under-16s side but the following season is when he showed everyone at Liverpool what he was all about.

During the 2011-12 season, Peterson figured for the Under 18s far more prominently, producing some stellar performances. He was one of the stand-out performers for the side, scoring five goals in 22 appearances. His excellent form brought him to the attention of Reserve team coach Rodolfo Borrell, who used the young star as a second half substitute in the Under-19s NextGen Series tie against Molde. He also featured in the third-place play-off tie against Marseille.

Here’s his Q&A:

If you weren’t a footballer, what would you be?

It’s a good question, since I was a kid its always been football, but I would love to work with something involving football. Like a scout, because I have a big interest in football.

Do you ever play as yourself on FIFA or sign yourself for another team?

(Laughs) I need to be honest, I’m not even on FIFA, but as a kid I made myself a player. We all have dreams!

Have you ever Googled yourself?
(Laughs) Of course I have. My friends like to make fun of me with some pictures.

Who is the joker in the dressing room?
It’s a hard one, this season has been fantastic, I have never been in a team were the jokes and spirit is this good. Adam Morgan, or Ryan McLaughlin.

What do you do when you’re not playing football?
Sleep and watch TV. Football is on a lot in the UK, so I watch a lot of football. I also like to go for a meal with my teammates once or twice a week.

Favourite TV show and why?
I think everyone knows this answer – it’s Entourage. The show is the best ever made and I have watched it over 25 times. I just can’t stop watching it!
Favourite film(s) and why?
I like inspirational movies, like Coach Carter. But also Think Like a Man! Great film.
Favourite singer/band and why?
Kid Ink, Ne-Yo and Swedish House Mafia – they all make me feel good. I love to listen close to the lyrics and find inspiration in songs.
Your footballing hero and why?
I know people might not like this answer, but it is Cristiano Ronaldo. The way he plays the game, his fitness and technique. You can tell he works hard. He wants to be the best and gets so angry when he doesn’t win. He worked on his game and showed a big interest in it by improving and now he scores a ridiculous amount of goals. He is a very smart player.
Where do you want to be in five years’ time?
I don’t know my future, only God does. But my dream is to be in Liverpool’s first team and play for them. And I will do everything I can to be there!
