Our second edition of ‘Getting to Know…’ – the new feature we have here at TBT – has finally arrived! In this sparkling little package Jack Watson has spoken to Liverpool full-back Ryan McLaughlin.
Ryan is currently travelling around America on his holidays, yet he still took some time out of his trip to speak to us and allow you to get to know him a little better.

If you weren’t a footballer what would you be?
I would probably be a P.E. teacher or a coach, I love sport and always want to be active!
Do you ever play yourself on FIFA or sign yourself for another team?
(Laughs) Of course, it has to be done, even if I’m rated 60 I’ll still play myself on it!
Have you ever Googled yourself?
Yeah I think everyone has – mostly for pictures. I do it just to see if there are any new pictures I haven’t seen before!
Who is the joker in the dressing room?
There are quite a few! I would say, Kris Peterson, Samed Yesil and Jordon Ibe. They make me laugh quite a lot!
What do you do when you’re not playing football?
I like to watch TV a lot and playing FIFA, mostly Pro Clubs with friends back home!
Favourite TV show?
This is a tough one between Entourage and Friends but I’ll say Friends! It never gets old or boring; I could watch it all day.
Favourite film(s)?
Favourite films are: Batman Dark Knight, Think Like A Man and Anchorman. I could name a lot more but they’re probably my favourite!
Favourite singer or band?
Favourite singer? I like Chris Brown a lot. Going to get stick for this but I like Justin Bieber also haha! And Drake, I like!
Your footballing hero?
I haven’t really got one, I like to look at players in my position to learn things from like Philipp Lahm, Glen Johnson and Dani Alves.
Favourite car?
Favourite car would be the Lamborghini Adventador. I love Batman and they just look like the bat mobile, haha.
Out of everyone in the squad, who spends the longest in the shower?
Jordon Ibe. He talks a lot when in the shower so he’s always last out!
Who do you room with on an away trip?
It changes a lot but the main ones would be Kris Peterson, Conor Coady and Jordon Ibe.
Who has the worst dress sense?
I’d say Marc Pelosi, he only wears Nike gear and nothing else!
And finally, where will you be in five years?
The dream would be to be playing week in, week out for Liverpool as well as challenging for trophies and winning them.
