Grabara suffers injury on loan at Huddersfield

Liverpool man Kamil Grabara was stretchered off during Huddersfield Town’s 2-1 win away at Hull City on Tuesday night.

The goalkeeper, who joined the Terriers on a season-long loan deal in the summer transfer window, collided with teammate Christopher Schindler in the 73rd minute.

Although the defender was able to continue, the Reds loanee was not as fortunate, and following a 10-minute stoppage in play, had to depart the John Smith’s Stadium pitch on a stretcher.

As of yet, there has been no update on the extent of Grabara’s injury, but he was subject to plenty of medical attention during the immediate aftermath of the incident.

We’re wishing Grabara a speedy recovery. It seems like it was a pretty nasty collision between the young goalkeeper and Schindler, and while the severity of the injury is not yet known, it is never nice to see a player withdrawn in these circumstances.

The Polish shot-stopper has not yet made a senior appearance for the Reds, but he has amassed 17 caps for his country’s Under-21 side already.

Grabara looks to be a player who boasts potential, given his international recognition, and there is seemingly trust from Liverpool that he has the potential to be a star, given their decision to hand him a new deal before loaning him to Huddersfield

The 21-year-old has made 28 appearances for the Terriers this season, and we feel he has shown some promising signs, keeping five clean sheets along the way.

Whether or not he has the quality to exceed the likes of Alisson and Adrian at Liverpool is uncertain at this stage.

However, we’re hoping that Grabara’s injury isn’t serious and he can continue his development during the second half of the season.
