How did LFC’s internationals get on in their second round of fixtures?

Liverpool fans will be happy to know that the 17 players called up for international duty all returned to Merseyside without an injury.

But how did they perform in their second games during the international matches?

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson started and played the full game for England in an entertaining 5-3 victory at home to Kosovo in a Euro 2020 qualifier.

Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, a Mergim Vojvoda own goal and two from Jadon Sancho got the goals for the Three Lions.

Harry Wilson, on loan at Bournemouth this season, started on the right wing and played 89 minutes in Wales’ 1-0 victory over Belarus in a friendly. making way for Will Vaulks.

Meanwhile, Ben Woodburn was an unused substitute.

Andy Robertson played the full game and captained a Scotland side that got beaten 4-0 by Divock Origi’s Belgium in a qualifier – Origi was an unused substitute.

Captain Virgil van Dijk and Gini Wijnaldum both featured for the Netherlands in their 4-0 victory over Estonia.

Wijnaldum again scored, proving his effectiveness in a No.10 role, while former Liverpool man Ryan Babel found the net twice.

Dejan Lovren played the full game in Croatia’s 1-1 draw away to Azerbaijan, but they still remain top of their group. The centre-back was partly at fault for the hosts’ equaliser, though.
