The Dutchman was tipped, by many pundits and fans, to be a bit-part player for Liverpool before last season started but the opposite was true.
Wijnaldum played more minutes than any of the Reds’ other midfielders and he justified his manager’s faith in him as Liverpool went on to win the Champions League.
