One agent has claimed that Liverpool has signed a ‘truly complete’ star in Hugo Ekitike, who has similar traits to two Paris Saint-Germain talents.

While both Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz have experienced choppy spells at Liverpool, after sealing audacious £125m and £116m moves, Ekitike – on the other hand he has continued to hit the ground running, from minute one of his Anfield journey.

Indeed, at the time of writing, the clinical Frenchman has bagged an impressive 17 goals from 42 appearances during his debut season on English shores.

Liverpool’s top five goalscorers (2025/26)

5Florian Wirtz4116

That means Ekitike stands alone at the top of the goalscoring charts for Arne Slot‘s men right now, with his goalscoring powers clear for all to see on international duty with France, as well.

The ex-Frankfurt marksman would delicately dink an effort past Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson to hand his nation a 2-1 win over Brazil, which has led to the owner of the agency, Horizon, Samir Khiat, noting that he is similar to two PSG megastars.

The two PSG superstars Ekitike is similar to

Coincidentally, Liverpool’s next Champions League showdown is against PSG, in Ekitike’s native France, where he will have to butt heads with international teammates.

The two PSG stars Ekitike has been compared to are Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola, with Doue helping himself to a brace over the break as well as France clashed with Colombia, after the Brazil workout.

Liverpool will need to keep tabs on the explosive 20-year-old to try and pull off a first-leg upset at the Parc Des Princes, with Doue up to ten goals and seven assists in all competitions this season for Luis Enrique’s men.

He also knocked the Reds out last season in the Champions League, when scoring the decisive penalty kick, in a nail-biting shoot-out.

It remains to be seen whether Barcola will be fit for the showdown in the middle of April, as he is currently sidelined through injury.

With 12 goals and six assists next to his name for the season, he is undoubtedly a top talent for the Parisian giants when fully fit.

Amazingly, the aforementioned Khiat has stated that Ekitike is a “truly complete” player who embodies both of these rising PSG stars, in his varied attributes on the pitch.

He stated, when speaking on L’Équipe du Soir: “Ekitiké is a player who’s in great form, with impressive statistics: 17 goals and 6 assists. He combines the qualities of Doué and Barcola.

“He’s capable of making runs in behind, covering a lot of ground at high intensity, playing one-on-one, and also combining well in tight spaces.

“On top of that, he’s an atypical player; he’s tall, he can play as a second striker alongside Mbappé. This also allows Mbappé to move into a preferred position if needed. He’s truly a complete and rare player.”

The Frenchman’s ability to score a wide range of goals is a brilliant weapon for Slot to have up his sleeve for the games to come against PSG, with Ekitike comfortable in the air, but also confident bursting forward, as evidenced in his breakaway goal versus Brazil.

Crucial for club, and clearly, now, for country, the number 22 is quietly becoming a force to be reckoned with, as he tries to dump PSG out of the Champions League next month, at the expense of his fellow compatriots.
