Former Liverpool player Harry Kewell has admitted that he feels the Reds should have tried to sign Antoine Griezmann.
The Frenchman was looking for a move away from Atletico Madrid during the summer and ended up joining Spanish rivals Barcelona, but Kewell feels Liverpool should have registered their interest and tried to bring him to Anfield.

The World Cup winner’s transfer fee was £108m and although Klopp may not have been willing to spend such an amount on him, he would have certainly improved his side’s attack. As quoted on the Daily Mail, Kewell said:
I think they need another striker. I know it sounds crazy but they need another to test the front three. I have nothing against Origi.
Are there players out there? Of course, there is. I would have loved to have seen Griezmann there. I think he would have been fantastic. I think he’s that type of player.
Would Griezmann have been worth it?

Signing Griezmann certainly would have sent a statement to the rest of Europe.
He’s a player who can play on either wing, upfront, or even behind the striker so his versatility is an asset.
Kewell’s concerns about Liverpool not having enough back-up firepower is true, as seen against Manchester United when Salah was absent, Origi came in and was invisible.
Signing someone like Griezmann would have plugged that gap, but who knows, maybe Klopp has something lined up for January.
