Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is eyeing a move for the Schalke prodigy Max Meyer, according to the German news outlet Bild.
The attacking midfielder is said to be a key target for the Liverpool manager as he looks to add more creativity to a side that has only found the back of the net 22 times in the entire Premier League season.
Bild say that the Reds will have to go toe-to-toe with Spanish sides Barcelona and Sevilla as well as Italian giants AC Milan if they do decide to make a bid for Meyer.
The 20-year-old, who has represented Germany at all levels of youth football, has made 75 appearances for the Bundesliga side since making his debut in 2013. He has appeared 12 times so far this campaign finding the net twice in his creative role.
The Independent have noted that it would take a bid of around £25.5m to prise the starlet away from Die Knappen as the youngster’s current contract runs until 2018.
