Klopp, 48, stepped down as Borussia Dortmund manager at the end of last season. Following Brendan Rodgers’ sacking on Sunday evening, the Klopp rumours have intensified, inevitably.
Other names, most notably Carlo Ancelotti, have been linked with the job also, but it appears that FSG’s preferred choice is Klopp and it looks like they have got their man.
Joyce has also said that the owners of the club regard the likes of Emre Can, Mamadou Sakho and Alberto Moreno are all seen as integral parts of the club’s future. This is despite not always being in Rodgers’ plans, it seemed.
According to the Express, Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz, who were both with Klopp as part of his coaching staff at Dortmund, are set to join the German at the club, too.
Klopp is willing to work with a transfer committee, which could be part of FSG’s thinking with the appointment.
A three-year deal has been put on the table and Klopp is expected to take the offer and become Liverpool manager in time for their next league game against Spurs.
