Lallana a doubt for Norwich clash

Adam Lallana is an injury doubt for Liverpool’s trip to Norwich on Saturday, Jürgen Klopp admitted today, as reported by the club’s official site.

The attacking midfielder is suffering from a “muscle problem”, and the Liverpool manager insisted that “we will have to see” when discussing his chances of lining up on Saturday lunchtime.

The news comes as a blow to a Liverpool squad who have seen a plethora of injuries recently, particularly in the attacking third of the pitch.

The stage may well be set for a younger player to get an unexpected chance, and with Joao Carlos Teixeira and Sheyi Ojo both managing to get on the scoresheet against Exeter City in midweek, they could find themselves now thrust into contention.

This injury news may even cause Klopp to look with more urgency to the transfer market, and this week saw the Mail, among others, link the Reds with Brazilian attacking midfielder Alex Teixeira. In light of Lallana’s injury, this move may become more of a priority.

I aspire to work within sports media, having discovered I may not make the grade as a pro footballer. There's still time though, or I can always blame injuries. Main sporting interests are football, as a big Liverpool fan, and boxing. Started writing for sites like TBT at 16, hoping it leads somewhere towards a good career one day. My twitter is linked on this page for any contact needed.
