Truly fantastic from Liverpool. Ninety minutes of dominance from the Reds, who were better in every single aspect than the visitors. United, though, were woeful and didn’t look to have a game plan whatsoever.
I can’t remember Louis van Gaal’s side having a single chance all game. Their best chance fell in the first 15 seconds and it was barely a chance.
The main thing for the home side is the clean sheet and now they don’t have to face the liberty of the away goal rule. If Jurgen Klopp’s men can score early on at Old Trafford next week, it’s effectively tie over. United will then require four goals to go through.
Liverpool are in a really good place at the moment and that is down to the recent consistency of the attackers. The likes of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana are constantly providing the end product that is required to win games. Something that was missing at the start of the season.
