Liverpool and Spurs both showing an interest in Depay

Liverpool and Tottenham are both said to be showing an interest in winger Memphis Depay, but the pair could face competition from Manchester United.

According to the Express, Italian outlet Calciomercato has revealed that Depay is on both Liverpool and Spurs’ radar ahead of the January window, and a move for the winger would reportedly cost around €50million.

However United included a buy-back clause in the deal that took Depay to Lyon, and could therefore rival both Liverpool and Spurs.

While Depay has flourished since signing for Lyon, the winger did struggle during his time in the Premier League with United and it could be a risky move for Liverpool, especially at €50million.

Furthermore, Depay is unlikely to displace Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane in the starting lineup should he move to Anfield, meaning he would likely only feature as a substitute or in the absence of the aforementioned pair.

The 25-year-old is enjoying a fine season with Lyon however, with 11 goals so far this campaign.
