Liverpool’s interest in Kylian Mbappe shows no sign of going away, with journalist Julien Laurens claiming the Reds are “in the conversation” to sign him next summer.
Mbappe was on the losing team for Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, as they lost 2-1 at home to Manchester United in the Champions League.
The 21-year-old had a lively game, but there are suggestions that he may be growing restless at PSG.
Liverpool have continually emerged as a potential suitor for the Frenchman, who could leave next year before his contract expires in 2022.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Laurens claimed the Reds are in the mix to snap up Mbappe, although Real Madrid could provide stiff competition:
If you ask Mbappe now about Liverpool he’s, ‘wow, it’s amazing what they do. The club is incredible. They’ve got an amazing team.’
The future of Kylian Mbappe is up in the air because PSG will say, ‘okay you don’t want to extend your deal so we are going to sell you next summer’. There will be two clubs who he will be really keen on.
Real Madrid are his dream, but Liverpool very much will be in the conversation for him and his family because he’s really in awe of what they are doing and what they are building. He spoke on the record of how good they’ve been.
I think he used the word ‘machine’. I certainly think he will really fancy playing for a club like Liverpool if there was an opportunity there.
I don’t think it’s just Real Madrid, I think there are others as well in Europe who have the same fascination and attraction as Real Madrid but they seem to still be the club he wants to play for.

Mbappe is a special young talent who would be an incredibly exciting signing for Liverpool, considering the potential he has.
At 22, he has almost his entire career ahead of him and 94 goals and 55 assists for PSG, in just 129 appearances, speak volumes about his final-third brilliance.
Capable of playing out on the left or centrally, Mbappe would be the perfect long-term replacement for Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino, bringing the same level of speed, end product and world-class quality to the team.
It may be that Liverpool have to sell one of the front-three to be able to afford Mbappe, but that could be worth the risk, considering they are all approaching 30, and therefore running out of time, in terms of sell-on value.
