The 19-year-old becomes Jurgen Klopp’s first signing since joining Liverpool earlier this season.
Under the terms of the deal, Grujic will be loaned straight back to SuperLiga leaders Red Star.
The talented playmaker made his professional debut back in 2013 for Red Star and had a loan spell with FK Kolobara last season.
Grujic has featured for Serbian youth teams from Under-16 to the Under-21 side but is yet to feature for the senior team.
He was part of the Serbia squad that won the 2015 Under-20 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand.

The deal has been speculated for weeks with Grujic recently posting on his official Facebook page: “On January 4, I will become a Liverpool player”.
Sky Sports reported that the Serbian had completed a medical on Monday to seal his move to Merseyside.
Although we won’t be able to see Grujic in a Liverpool shirt for a while, he is clearly a talented player and definitely one for the future.
