Liverpool fans absolutely love Wijnaldum's comments about Pickford

These Liverpool supporters absolutely loved Gini Wijnaldum’s honesty when discussing Everton’s foul play in the Merseyside derby.

The Reds were left feeling a deep sense of injustice last weekend, following the 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.

While a draw was a perfectly adequate result on paper, everything went against Jurgen Klopp’s side on the day.

Virgil van Dijk’s season may be finished after a hideous tackle by Jordan Pickford, and Thiago was lucky to escape serious injury after an equally dreadful challenge from Richarlison, which saw the Brazilian sent-off.

To put the icing on the cake, Jordan Henderson also had a last-minute goal ruled out for offside by VAR, following a dubious decision against Sadio Mane.

There is no denying that Liverpool are stinging after being on the wrong end of so many poor decisions and their anger doesn’t seem to have gone away yet.

On Tuesday, Wijnaldum and Jurgen Klopp were on press conference duty ahead of the Champions League clash with Ajax.

When asked about Pickford, Wijnaldum was brutally honest about what he thought of the Everton goalkeeper’s antics, also accusing the Blues of being reckless in numerous derbies in recent years:

😠 🇳🇱 Gini is NOT happy.

Wijnaldum goes in on "stupid" Pickford challenge and "over the top" Everton.

He's absolutely right. The emotions are still running extremely high around this situation. It really got me that he said he couldn't sleep. Bless him.
