Liverpool have been closely linked with German striker Timo Werner all season.
The RB Leipzig attacker has been in prolific goalscoring form so far, netting 27 times in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Many Liverpool fans are eager for the 23-year-old to sign for Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer.
However, as reported on The Athletic, there is also interest from Manchester United and FC Barcelona, which means there could be a fierce battle for the German’s signature in a few months.
His current deal with RB Leipzig expires in the summer of 2023 and according to Transfermarkt, the striker is currently worth £67.5m.
Liverpool fans got the opportunity to watch Werner closely as he came to London to face Tottenham Hotspur in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
The forward was a nuisance for the Spurs defence, proven by the fact that he scored one goal, had four shots and played one key pass in the match (WhoScored).
It’s fair to say these Liverpool fans on Twitter want the club to secure his services.
