Many Liverpool fans are wholeheartedly against the prospect of the Reds joining a European Premier League, with some claiming it could even prove to be the death of football.
On Tuesday, Sky Sports reported that Liverpool and Manchester United were both in talks to be involved with a brand-new venture involving the top clubs in Europe, which would see them take on teams from the best leagues across the continent.
It is claimed that a huge £4.6billion package has been created by financiers, and that more than a dozen of Europe’s heavyweight sides have shown interest in being founding members of what is being called the European Premier League.
The report suggests it may even start as early as 2022, with plans moving quickly at the moment.
The idea may excite some, but for the vast majority, it appears as though it is something they don’t want to see happen, potentially changing football as we know it completely.
There is a feeling that it could alter domestic leagues forever, and once again see money taking precedence over supporters.
These Liverpool supporters have taken to Twitter to speak of their dislike for the idea, hoping that is doesn’t go ahead.
Is there any football fan who actually wants this? Surely at some point the desires of ‘the consumer’ have to be considered? https://t.co/IvegT7ktWC

What a surprise to see a story like this break so soon after the rejection of Project Big Picture. https://t.co/muIQ30lCxb
