Liverpool are still interested in a summer move for Kai Havertz, according to Sport Bild, as translated by Sport Witness.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a switch to Anfield already this month, as Jurgen Klopp eyes up reinforcements.
Havertz isn’t without suitors, with the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Manchester City all linked in the past, too.
This latest report claims Leverkusen will only be willing to sell the Germany international for €130 million, however, which would break the record for a transfer fee at Liverpool.
Havertz is valued at £81 million (€95m) by Transfermarkt, but Liverpool will have to pay significantly more to get their man.
The youngster has scored 33 goals in 128 appearances for Leverkusen, also finding the net once in seven caps for Germany.
These Liverpool supporters have provided a mixed response to the news, with some taking to Twitter to state that the German is a good player, but to raise questions about the price tag and also if his arrival would lead to a departure for Gini Wijnaldum.

This could be linked to situation with Gini, Liverpool mightn’t want to commit big wages to Gini knowing they are targeting Havertz, also funds may need to be raised for a fee this high, just my guess https://t.co/w21i0ZWpvB

I like Havertz and think Klopp would turn him into a world-beater but there is no way we will (or should) be paying €130m for an attacking midfielder who has 4 goals and 2 assists all season. https://t.co/09oaZR6SK7

I hope Gini stays but I'm not going to be bitter towards him if he wants a new challenge due to his age.
I'd rather have Gini sign a new deal than Milner but I hope we can get Havertz over the line.#LFC— Jack Griffiths (@JGriffiths993) January 29, 2020
