Virgil van Dijk was absent from Liverpool training ahead of the Reds first game in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Dominic King of the Daily Mail revealed that the defender was not present in an open training session at Qatar university ahead of the tournament, with Gini Wijnaldum also absent from the session.

Reports from the Liverpool Echo have also confirmed that the defender is not suffering from any injuries.
Several Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions about the absence of Van Dijk.

From the sounds of it, Van Dijk is not suffering from an injury.
However, you can never know until it is officially revealed.
It is more likely that he is just being rested, especially with these fixtures not being that important for the Reds.
