As reported in the Daily Mirror, Virgil van Dijk has agreed to sign a contract extension at Liverpool.
The Dutchman, who arrived at Anfield in January 2018, will see his salary increase to around £200,000-a-week as he puts pen to paper on a deal that will keep him under contract at Liverpool until 2025.
These Liverpool fans were, quite rightly, delighted by the news.

Virgil van Dijk has established himself as one of the best players in the world and as such, it’s great for Liverpool that he will be signing a new deal.
The Reds have been keen to reward players who perform well and this is just another example of that.
By giving players new deals, even when their existing contracts have plenty of time left on them, Liverpool are not only protecting the value of the players, but they’re also boosting morale and incentivising players to perform to a high standard.
The news of this extension is much welcomed.
