Anyone who follows any Liverpool FC related accounts or fans on Twitter will know that there’s a running joke amongst the club supporters about the teams that Manchester City are often drawn against in cup competitions.
The joke is that City always get easy draws, such as when they faced Burton Albion in the semi-final of the League Cup.
So, when City were drawn against Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League, plenty of Liverpool fans took to social media to discuss the tie, with many taking the opportunity to mock their rivals.
Here are just a few of them:

Read Liverpool Verdict
From a Liverpool point of view, who other teams draw is pretty irrelevant, but if the Reds can get past Atletico Madrid, they’ll know that one of the top sides in the competition; Real Madrid or Manchester City, won’t be in the quarter-finals, which is a boost.
City are currently the favourites to win the Champions League, with Liverpool second-favourites, so many Reds fans will be hoping that Real knock out ther reigning Premier League champions.
