The summer transfer window is now closed and it was a relatively quiet period for Liverpool Football Club.
Despite reports linking the Reds with the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Philippe Coutinho, Nicolas Pepe and many more players, the Reds did not make a ‘splash signing’. Instead, they brought in a couple of young players and a reserve goalkeeper on a free transfer.
However, the Reds were also able to keep hold of their best players, something that hasn’t always been the case at Anfield.
So, how do the Reds’ fans feel about the window as a whole? Ste Hoare asked them on Twitter and the responses were mixed.

There were some fans who were happy with the relatively quiet summer.

Brilliant. Didn’t lose one key player. Added youth. We go again.

However, others were not so happy..
Pretty poor imo I would of liked a player who could push for a starting place but in Juergen we trust.

Very poor. But it’s gone. Let’s get behind the lads for new season.

Liverpool did sign Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott, and these fans are happy to see them and are willing to give them a chance.
Have a feeling we’ll look back in a few years and brag about how we got Harvey Elliott and Sepp in the same window for pennies.

Read Liverpool verdict
Personally, I think Liverpool should have invested in a forward player, one who can come in and take the burden off the Reds’ current front three. Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri are good players but I’d have liked to have seen the Reds in the mix for somebody of higher quality.
As it is, Jurgen Klopp chose to stick rather than twist and he’ll be hoping that his team, who had an incredible 2018/19 season, can replicate that form this season. They’re more than capable of doing so, but an injury to a forward player could really derail their plans.
