Jurgen Klopp opted against making a high-profile signing during the summer transfer window and his decision has been a controversial one among Liverpool supporters.
This has been highlighted by the reported availability of former Red Philippe Coutinho, who was said to be offered to numerous Premier League teams.
As reported by the Mirror, Klopp addressed the speculation regarding Coutinho and his transfer stance has divided opinions among supporters.
He said:
If nothing happens, it was because the decision was not the right option for us. We will not make signings just for making signings. That makes no sense.
A number of supporters have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the club’s decision and not everyone agrees with the Reds boss.

The general consensus here is that this was a deal that simply came down to money.
You only have to look at the club’s recent transfer record to see that with time, the right additions will come. The likes of Alisson and Virgil van Dijk prove that those behind the scenes are willing to wait.
Liverpool’s lack of business this summer may point towards big spending in either January or the following summer transfer window – which you can imagine is the more likely option.
While some fans may see it as a missed opportunity off the back of last season, the club are clearly confident in their plans.
