Liverpool are interested in signing Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni this summer, according to Passione Inter.
The 20-year-old centre-back is a highly-rated player at the San Siro, making 14 Serie A appearances this season.
Bastoni is believed to be one of a number of defensive targets being watched by Jurgen Klopp, with Dejan Lovren potentially moving on at the end of the season.

I believe someone of Bastoni’s ilk could be precisely what Liverpool need when it comes to finding a Lovren replacement. Bastoni has an 88.8 per cent pass completion rate in Serie A this season, showing that he could excel in Liverpool’s ball-playing back-line.
I think it is time that the 57-cap Croatian international moved on this summer, having consistently shown over six seasons that he isn’t reliable enough, both in terms of fitness and form.
Although Lovren can be good on his day, there are too many poor performances thrown in, such as against Watford last month, when This Is Anfield gave him just a 4/10 rating. While poor showings against Genk and Brighton also spring to mind.
I don’t think the Reds don’t need a top class seasoned professional brought in, considering they already have Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip to call upon.
What they need is a talented youngster who can learn from those mentioned, coming in when needed but not expecting to play every week.
