Remember when John Henry’s Twitter was being bombarded with inane requests of purchasing Marco Reus?
Another player who has almost equally been desired and considered by the wide range of support is a Real Madrid midfielder by the name of Isco.
This week, German publication Bild discussed the likelihood of the fleet-footed Spaniard making his way northwest to the land of rivers and low-hanging rain clouds to try his hand in the Premier League.
Additionally, that may not be the only ‘northwestern passage’ that he’s destined for, as one of his most likely destinations has been listed as none other than Liverpool FC.
Back in the archaic times of Brendan Rodgers, which feels like it may as well have coincided with Ian Rush’s ‘tashe bearing days while playing for the Redmen, the idea that someone like Isco would genuinely consider shacking up on Merseyside would have brought social media to a stand-still.

With the renewed confidence and attractive perspective of working with a manager like Jurgen Klopp, the notion suddenly doesn’t seem so radical. Topping a list of potential January targets for the German skipper, Isco may be one to get the minds of Liverpool supporters racing with the prospect of his addition to a starting eleven already chock-full of attacking talent.
According to the Bild report, Isco has been disenfranchised because of his lack of playing time under Rafa Benitez.
Of course, if he were to force his way out of the Spanish capital, there would be a number of suitors on full alert to meet his rumoured £32m price tag, paramount among those being Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
Their dismal beginning to the Premier League season will likely see Chelsea in the market for a multitude of top quality players, possibly including the Madrid star.
Though City clearly have the financial backing to make a move, their purchase of Raheem Sterling in the summer will likely see their hand forced in allowing him to move to another English side.
And, as has so often been the case of late, the transfer battle would most likely lead to a conclusion between Arsenal and Liverpool. Mesut Ozil and Champions League football being reasons for making the move to London, the Reds are also well equipped with a rising performance level and the prospect of playing alongside Brazilian duo Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
