Liverpool loanee Allan undergoes surgery

Liverpool loanee Allan Rodrigues de Souza has undergone surgery to repair a shoulder injury, according to Goal.

The young Brazilian will return to Liverpool with his loan at Apollon Limassol cut short as the midfielder is now expected to miss four months of action.

Allan has had several shoulder dislocations so far this season, and Liverpool were keen to get the midfielder operated on so he would be fit in time for pre-season.

The Brazilian made over 16 appearances for Apollon Limassol, and played when the Cypriot team dumped Everton out of the Europa League.

Allan will still not qualify for a work permit in the UK, however, so will be loaned out again next season to a place where he is able to play.

The Brazilian joined the Reds in 2015 from Internacional for a fee of over £500,000. He has never qualified for a work permit since then, so has been loaned out to the likes of Finnish side SJK, Sint-Truiden of Belgium and Hertha Berlin.

Liverpool apparently think he has a bright future but until he qualifies for a work permit in the UK, he’ll continue to be loaned out.
