Liverpool are reportedly ready to bid after Dortmund decided not to offer Nuri Sahin a new contract, according to Football Italia.
Sahin, who played for Liverpool briefly in a loan spell in 2012, has been put up for sale, with his contract expiring in 2019. This means he will be available for a reportedly cheap fee.
Napoli, Roma and Galatasaray are also interested in the Turkish international, who turns 30 next month.
Sahin has struggled to hold down a constant first team spot at Dortmund, since joining in 2013 after his spell with Liverpool.
Dortmund’s decision to not offer him a new deal means that a return to Anfield is on the cards for the Turkish midfielder.
During his spell in Merseyside in 2012, Sahin made 12 appearances for the Reds, netting three times including one in league against Norwich City.
Liverpool could get some solid midfield depth in Sahin, in what could be a second spell at the club.
