Liverpool lost their first game of the season as they were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea at Anfield on Wednesday night in the League Cup.

Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring for Liverpool, as they took the lead on the night. The English striker missed an open goal after rounding the goalkeeper just minutes before his goal – when he scored a well-executed overhead kick.

Chelsea then scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of the game, with Eden Hazard scoring a contender for goal of the season to secure the victory for the visitors.
