As Steven Gerrard makes his managerial debut in Scotland, he will be wanting to make an instant impact and do something that Scottish football hasn’t seen for years, produce a team that can challenge Celtic for the title.
To do this, Gerrard is going to have to make signings that can be the difference between first and second place.
Gerrard will have the ability to attract players to Rangers and can possibly convince younger stars, who Rangers can’t possibly afford to buy permanently, to join his side on a loan deal.
Gerrard has come from coaching the Liverpool academy and has seen what they have to offer and the players at the academy will know what Gerrard has to offer too, and if they want to gain some first-team football experience, then they know they have a club who is managed by somebody they trust and someone who will help them improve into better players.
