Liverpool set to make “tempting offer” for Queiros

Liverpool and Arsenal are expected to make a “tempting offer” for Porto defender Diogo Queirós, according to reports in Portugal.

Correio da Manhã, via Sport Witness, are reporting that Arsenal and Liverpool are both pursuing the defender, who is highly rated in Portugal.

Queiros has impressed many, with his performances for Portugal at last summer’s European Under-19 Championship seeing him included in Uefa’s team of the tournament. The defender is expecting to be promoted to the first team for next season.

Bournemouth reportedly interested in signing the defender, but Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly lead the race for the Portuguese youngster, with the two sides are reportedly close to offering the defender a contract, with the defender’s current deal set to run out in 2021.

His current deal contains a €25 million release clause, but if Porto are unable to agree on a new deal, they could accept a deal of just over £10 million for the highly rated youngster, according to the Guardian.
