Liverpool sign 17-year-old Bobby Duncan

Liverpool have signed England Under-17 star Bobby Duncan, The Telegraph reports.

Duncan, the cousin of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, left Manchester City earlier this summer and had now signed a professional contract with Liverpool who have paid £200,000 for the youngster.

The 17-year-old had been keen to depart City this summer and had been training away from the club for the last few months.

Earlier this week, Duncan took to social media to announce his departure from City, a club that he joined aged just 11.

It’s been an amazing six years at Manchester City.

It was a difficult decision for me and my family but the time is right for a new challenge and fulfil my dreams and potential elsewhere.

Duncan was consistently linked with a move to Liverpool last season due to his relations with club legend Gerrard, and now the 17-year-old has indeed decided that his route to playing Premier League football lies with the Merseyside club.

Duncan has regularly featured for England’s Under-16 squad and became the first Englishman to score a hat-trick against Brazil.
