Liverpool are still keen on signing Schalke winger Leroy Sané despite a having a bid rejected in the summer, according to Bild.
Bild report that an £11m bid was placed during the most recent transfer window, only to be quickly snubbed by the Schalke board.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has seemingly not lost interest in the talented attacker, though, who has been linked with several clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, over the past year.
The 19-year-old burst onto the scene last season with a string of eye-catching performances for the German side – most notably in their Champions League victory over Real Madrid in which he scored.
Sané is a pacey, direct player who would further bolster Rodgers’ expensive attacking options.
How Schalke would react to a substantial bid though remains to be seen, especially having only recently sold star player Julian Draxler to Wolfsburg.
Liverpool would no doubt face stiff competition for the German Under-21 International who has started the 2015-16 Bundesliga campaign in fine fashion.
Sané recently extended his current contract with Schalke, which could see him stay at the Bundesliga club until 2019.
