Liverpool target Haaland wants to sign for Manchester United

Liverpool transfer target Erling Haaland is reportedly keen to sign for Manchester United in January.

According to The Mirror, Haaland is ready to turn down a host of Europe’s elite and sign for Manchester United.

The report claims that Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are among the other clubs interested in the forward, with all three playing Champions League football – compared to United in the Europa League.

With the report also claiming that Haaland has already visited United’s training ground, it would appear as though Liverpool have a mountain to climb if they are serious about completing a deal for him. Haaland has scored 28 goals in 22 games for Salzburg this season, at the age of just 19, including eight goals in six Champions League games.

He has proven his class at the top level in Europe, which suggests that he could be a very good prospect for the future. With Roberto Firmino struggling to find his goalscoring boots at present, bringing Haaland in could provide a level of competition that would spur Firmino on to up his game for the Reds.

Liverpool would also be investing in their future. If Liverpool want to remain at the top of the game, they need to be constantly looking to improve their side and add prospects to potentially replace stars later down the road.
