Liverpool tipped to make move for Lloyd Kelly

Liverpool could bring in defensive reinforcements this summer and according to Neil Jones of Goal, Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly could be a potential option, one who would provide cover for two positions.

The Reds were interested in signing Kelly when he left Bristol City but they were beaten to the punch by The Cherries, who paid around £13m to secure a transfer.

However, with Bournemouth looking like they’ll be relegated to the Championship in the very near future, Kelly could soon become available once again.

If Liverpool’s recruitment staff are still interested in Kelly, then his signing could be a useful one as he’d be able to provide cover at centre-back and at left-back too.

That could allow the Reds to let Dejan Lovren leave, which he would probably be willing to do in order to get regular first-team football.

Kelly could also be the man to fill in at left-back if Andy Robertson was not available for any reason, or if he simply needed a rest.

Selling Lovren and bringing in Kelly could be another masterstroke move by Michael Edwards if he decides to go down that route.
