Liverpool vs Arsenal: Combined XI

Liverpool have enjoyed a successful last week or so, winning their fourth UEFA Super Cup before beating Southampton to take top spot in the Premier League table.

The Reds now have a decent break before facing their first big challenge in the league against Arsenal at Anfield.

Liverpool have a good record against the Gunners on home turf, going unbeaten in 72 of the 96 matches played between the two teams (52 wins and 20 draws).

The last time both teams faced each other at Anfield, the Reds thrashed the north Londoners 5-1, with Roberto Firmino scoring a hat-trick last December.

Liverpool have scored at least four goals in each of their last two matches at home to Arsenal , but that might not be the case this time.

Unai Emery’s side also have a 100 percent record, winning their first two league matches for the first time since 2009.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette look in good form and the new signings have impressed – those who are fit, at least.

Liverpool will, therefore, have a great deal of work to do to amass three points on Saturday.

Both teams have some top class players in their squad, which will surely make this weekend’s match exciting.

Here’s our customary look at a combined XI of Liverpool and Arsenal players – those who are ruled out due to injury are also taken into account…
