Loan Watch: How did LFC’s players away from Anfield perform at the weekend?

Liverpool started their 2019/20 season with a disappointing penalty shootout loss to Manchester City in Community Shield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side face Norwich on Friday, with the Reds hoping to come out on top in their Premier League opener.

For now, our attention turns to the players out on loan from the first team who were active for their clubs last weekend.

Ben Woodburn – Oxford United

The Welshman made his debut for Oxford and played 75 minutes on the right wing, before being replaced by James Hanson as his side drew 1-1 at Sunderland in their League One opener.

Tarique Fosu got the goal for the home side and Lynden Gooch equalised from the spot for the Black Cats. After one game, United sit in 12th place in League One.

Yony Gonzalez and Natanael Pimienta (own goal) got the goals for Fluminense and Edenilson scored a consolation.

Fluminense moved up to 16th place thanks to the three points.
