In a new weekly series exclusive to TBT, ‘Loan Watch’, I’ll be reviewing the performances of all our Academy players for that week, if you missed the previous episode of Loan Watch then be sure to read it by clicking here. The aim of this series is to keep Liverpool fans informed about the players who are not at the club at this current time.
Suso
19 year old playmaker Suso again shone for Almeria, and this time his loan side also performed as they picked up consecutive wins with a 1-0 triumph over Real Valladolid. Suso picked up his 5th assist this season as he provided the ball for Rodri to slot home in the 39th minute. This assist means that Suso is joint 4th with the most assists in La Liga behind Koke (7), Neymar (7) and Fabregas (6), and is also the youngest player to get 5 assists or more this season. Also with that assist, Suso has either scored or assisted 43% of Almeria’s goals this season, which goes to show how influential the young Spaniard has at his new club. He will be hoping to add to his assists and goals tally in Almeria’s next game, when they travel to 17th placed Osasuna, a game where Almeria will back themselves to get their 3rd win on the bounce and rise up the La Liga table.
Conor Coady
Former Under 21 captain Conor Coady was an unused substitute for his loan side Sheffield United as they lost away to Shrewsbury on Saturday, and will be hoping to get some game time in Sheffield United’s next game when they travel to Colchester United in the 1st round of the FA Cup.
Krisztian Adorjan
Under 21 forward Krisztian Adorjan was another unused substitute for Groningen in their 3-3 draw with Roda JC, after his place in the starting XI was taken by 17 year old Richairo Zivkovic. If Adorjan did play though, he would’ve come up against former Liverpool Academy player Krisztian Nemeth, who also didn’t make much of an impact in the game. Adorjan will be hoping for some game time in Groningen’s next game when they travel to 13th placed Heracles Almelo.
Andre Wisdom
England Under 21 captain Andre Wisdom didn’t replicate his performance on his debut, as his Derby County side crashed to a 2-1 defeat against high-flying QPR, the former club of Wisdom’s current manager Steve McClaren. Wisdom was playing only his 2nd game for his new club, and played 93 minutes at right-back in the loss. He did, however, pick up a yellow card in the 42nd minute for a bad foul on Jermaine Jenas. He made no other notable contribution in the match and was substituted in the 93rd minute for Mason Bennett. Wisdom will be looking for a stronger performance on Saturday the 9th November, when his Derby side host Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday.
