Man City fans are fuming following handball incident

A number of Manchester City fans appear to be incredibly angry with the decision to not award a penalty for handball on Trent Alexander-Arnold prior to Liverpool’s first goal at Anfield.

The incident is set to be a huge talking point following the match, after VAR decided to stick with the on-field decision of no penalty after the ball struck Alexander-Arnold on the arm in the area.

Following the decision, these City fans have vented their frustrations on social media with many believing it was a clear penalty.

While the ball did strike Alexander-Arnold’s arm in the area prior to Fabinho’s goal, an argument can be made that the ball only found it’s way to the full-back via the arm of Bernardo Silva.

As previously mentioned, the incident is likely to dominate much of the post-match coverage, with some suggesting that Fabinho’s goal should have in fact been ruled out due to the handball incident.
