Man United want Reds target Bellingham in £100m double deal

Manchester United remain keen on signing Liverpool target Jude Bellingham this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The 16-year-old is one of the most highly-rated young players in the country, having starred for Birmingham City this season, scoring four goals and registering two assists.

Bellingham has been tipped to move to Liverpool in the past, but bitter rivals United could have the upper hand.

This latest update claims that Ed Wooward is keen on spending £100 million on a double deal for the youngster and Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.

Bellingham also reportedly visited United’s training ground on Monday, adding to the speculation.

Missing out on any top young player is an obvious blow, but Liverpool have other options in their squad if Bellingham opts to join United this summer.

In Curtis Jones, they have an equally prodigious talent, and while Bellingham’s rise has arguably been greater – he is three years younger and already playing regular first-team football – he could block the Reds star’s path if he signs.

The duo are both attack-minded midfielders who possess great technical quality in the final third and Jurgen Klopp might struggle to use both regularly in his squad.

I believe Liverpool are a far more inviting proposition for any player currently, considering their status as European and hopefully soon-to-be Premier League champions, so if they did make a bid, it would be interesting to see if Bellingham’s head was turned.
