Naby Keita expected to be in contention for Aston Villa clash

Liverpool have received an injury boost ahead of this weekend’s clash against Aston Villa, as Naby Keita is expected to be in contention to play in the game, and therefore the games against Genk and Man City, as per the reliable LFC Globe.

Keitha was forced off with an injury during Liverpool’s epic Carabao Cup clash against Arsenal at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp explaining after the game that his midfielder felt a slight issue after he slipped and stretched a muscle.

However, it looks like the Guinean didn’t suffer any major issue and as such, he’s expected to be part of the Liverpool squad for Saturday’s clash away at Aston Villa.

Whether Keita starts the game remains to be seen as he’s not been starting Premier League games in recent weeks, with a combination of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner getting the nod more often than not.

Even so, Liverpool will be happy to have an attacking option like Keita on the bench in case he’s needed in another big game as the Reds look to secure three more Premier League points.
