I almost feel like this is redundant to write, but really it’s not all that bad.
As the final whistle blew on the loss to Wolves, there was almost a sense of relief. Of course I was hoping that Divock Origi’s goal would spark some last minute cup heroics the likes of which Spurs managed later that day but deep down, I was just glad that it was over.
No cups, no trophies, no Europe, and probably no league- though you won’t catch many discounting that until Tuesday.
It’s not all that bad, not many were saying in August I hope we win the EFL cup, or a trip to Wembley and the possibility to play in the Community Shield come August would be boss.

It’s been a good season we’re still in the Champions League places, if anyone had offered us that in August, we would have snapped their hand off. We’ve only lost three times in the league, scoring more goals than anyone else in that time.
We’re above Manchester United, and everyone’s title favourites Manchester City. We’ve played some sensational football, and although that may seem like an age ago, it’s not. It was less than a month ago we beat City at Anfield, a month since we scored four against Stoke.

Sometimes in football you lose and sometimes you lose games in a row. I’d take losing the last couple of games in exchange for the brilliant results we’ve had since August.
Forget about the bad form and the cups we really didn’t prioritize anyway. Let’s regroup and cheer on the Reds this Tuesday.
Let Jurgen Klopp learn and grow his team his way, and rally behind the charge for European nights at Anfield come September.
Remember, it’s just been a bad month not a bad year…
