Liverpool head into the international break sitting top of the Premier League table after four wins from four games. Jurgen Klopp’s men have defeated West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Leicester City and have conceded just one goal in those four matches, but there are tougher tests to come.
Liverpool’s fixture list shows that the Reds will face Tottenham, Chelsea, Southampton and Manchester City in their next four league games, whilst also playing tough midweek games against PSG and Napoli in the Champions League and Chelsea again in the League Cup.
The Reds failed to beat Spurs or Chelsea last season and whilst their record against Man City is pretty good, the champions will still provide a stern test for Klopp’s men and you can use a free bet if you wish to predict the outcome of any of these mouthwatering clashes.
One thing to keep in mind is that the Reds are a much better team than they were yesterday and that’s due to their defensive improvements.
The partnership between Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk at centre back is blossoming well, with both players having excellent starts to the season. Full backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson continue to show their attacking prowess on a weekly basis but both are doing a good job in terms of defending too.
In addition to such a solid back four, Alisson has been a calming factor behind them. His mistake against Leicester City was ridiculous and something that he’s already said that he will learn from, but his goalkeeping has been top class. He has had complete command of his penalty box, he’s every shot he’s had at him and he’s done so in such a calm manner.
The Reds have yet to really click into gear as an attacking force but their top players have had moments of brilliance to win games and they can get away with not being an unstoppable attacking force in every match they play as the goalkeeper and back four are providing them with a much more solid base.
