Liverpool signed goalkeeper Simon Mignolet on this day in 2013, and the Belgian has gone on to make over 200 appearances for the Reds since his move.
Mignolet signed for Liverpool in a £9million deal from Sunderland, after making over 100 appearances for the Black Cats in a three-year spell at the Stadium of Light.
The Belgian became Brendan Rodgers’ fourth signing of the 2013 summer transfer window, after Kolo Toure, Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto all made respective moves to Liverpool.
Mignolet has been linked with a move away from the club this summer after making just two appearances last season, with a fee of £8million said to be Liverpool’s asking price amid interest from Premier League sides.
