Real Madrid are being linked with a January move for Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno, according to MARCA .
The Madrid-based club first looked at adding a left-back to their squad in the summer after the departure of Fabio Coentrao to AS Monaco.
However, they were assured by Rafa Benitez that such a move was not necessary, as he had enough options in new €32m signing Danilo, Alvaro Arbeloa, and Nacho.
Danilo has mainly acted as a right-back and failed to convince many at the Bernabeu, being singled out as a main factor in the recent losses to Sevilla and Barcelona.
Arbeloa has barely featured for Benitez, but has not impressed either. Nacho, on the other hand, has surprisingly been the best out of the three as a left-back, but according to the same report, will be primarily used as a centre-back in the coming weeks due to Madrid’s injury woes.

As a result, Florentino Perez has apparently made Alberto Moreno his main target.
The former Sevilla player had been previously targeted by Los Merengues before moving to Anfield in the summer of 2014.
Moreno fits the attacking profile of a Madrid full-back perfectly and is also homegrown, meaning that Real Madrid would not have to move on any non-European Union players in order to meet La Liga’s rules.
